Merrimac Code of Conducts

PLAYER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Coach and Team Manager are to be respected at all times.
  • Players must arrive 15 minutes prior to training start time.
  • Players must arrive a minimum of 30 minutes prior to the start of any game.
  • Players must take with them to all games and training sessions:-
    • Shin Pads
    • Soccer Socks
    • Soccer Boots
    • Soccer Shorts
    • Drink Bottle
    • Jumper
    • Sunscreen Cap
  • The Club Shirt is your uniform it is to be worn to and from ALL games.
  • The Training Strip is your uniform for training at ALL sessions.
  • The Team Manager must be contacted as early as possible prior to scheduled time
    where the player is unable to attend training or a game.
  • Contact the Team Manager:-
    • for any queries in relation to training or the match game.
    • if transport is required.
    • for any queries you have.
  • Your attendance to training and games determines your loyalty to soccer and your team
    mates and eligibility for carnivals and other special events.
  • After training and playing on the fields, before you leave –

    Look Around – Don’t forget your clothes, drink bottles or rubbish.

  • Attendance at training is essential to be eligible to play competition games.
  • Competition Identification Cards must be with the player at all games and training sessions.
  • Competition Players must sign the registration form and present identification card prior to the game.
  • Treat all players as you would like to be treated and respect the property of others.

  • Players who breach these directions may be issued with a warning, yellow or red card.Players sent from the field will not be replaced for the remainder of the game and will miss the next game in which they would have played.
  • Know and follow the field rules. They are for your safety.
  • No boots are to be worn in the club house.
  • Football boots are designed to grip grass not smooth surfaces. Change out of boots
    when you leave the fields and go walking on smooth surfaces such as tiles and concrete
    or you may slip!

PARENTS/GUARDIAN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Parents must have players at Training Sessions a minimum 15 minutes prior to the start
    of the session.
  • Parents must have players at games a minimum 30 minutes prior to the start of the
    Game (or as the Coaches instructions).
  • Ensure Players take with them to all games and training sessions:-
    • Shin Pads
    • Soccer Socks
    • Soccer Boots
    • Soccer Shorts
    • Drink Bottle
    • Jumper
    • Sunscreen Cap
  • Coaches are volunteers and do their best – do not criticise them.
  • The Coaches decision is final.
  • Provide a model of good behavior for all players.
  • Demonstrate courtesy towards all players, all officials, and all spectators.
  • Let game officials conduct the match without interference yet be willing to provide
    assistance if required.
  • Do Not coach the children from the sideline as this interferes with the work that the
    coaches are trying to accomplish with the children.
  • Ensure the Club Training strip is worn at training sessions.
  • Ensure the Club Shirt and uniform is to be worn to and from ALL games.
  • Contact the Team Manager as early as possible prior to scheduled time where the player
    is unable to attend training or a game.
  • Contact the Team Manager for any queries in relation to training or the match game.
  • Contact the Team Manager if transport is required.
  • First point of contact is the Team Manager for any queries you have.
  • Take your turn and wash strips when rostered on for your team.
  • Canteen duty is obligatory for all teams at home games. Take your turn. All teams are
    required to attend canteen duty for 30 minutes prior to your childs game unless rostered
    otherwise.

  • Please appreciate the following rules within this booklet, which will change from time to
    time, are primarily in place for your children’s safety.
  • A great deal of expense has gone into installing fences, posts, nets and greenery that we
    are so fortunate to have. We ask you to please ensure children DO NOT climb or destroy them. Please inform your children.
  • In the case of injury during play Parents / Guardians are NOT permitted to man handle the injured player as it will nullify all insurance if a serious injury occurs.

COACHES RESPONSIBILITES

  • Set a good example for all players.
  • Coaches are to encourage and create opportunities to develop individual and team skills.
  • Treat all players as equals.
  • Ensure players are friendly towards officials and opponents.
  • Remove from the field of play, any of your players whose behavior is unacceptable.
  • Coaches are to arrive at training sessions and games a minimum of 30/60 minutes prior to the session.
  • Coaches are to take to training all balls and training equipment required during the
    session – both training and games.
  • Coaches will liaise with the Director of Coaching for all coaching sessions, fields and
    other information.
  • Coaches will obtain and / or participate in coaching accreditation prior to the season as
    provided.
  • Coaches must hold a blue card. All forms are available from the secretary or email

TEAM MANAGERS RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Arrive at training sessions and games at least 30 minutes prior to session.
  • Playing Strips & Kit Bag:-
    Ensure playing strips & Kit Bag are taken to all games.
    Strips are to be worn for games ONLY and not for general day to day usage.
    Strips are NOT for distribution to players.
    Strips and Kit Bag to remain together.
    Any damages to strips will be charged accordingly.
    Prepare and distribute a roster for the washing of strips for the team.
  • Ensure that all players have drinks organised for their game.
  • Liaise with Secretary and Director of Coaching re information required.
  • Check emails and website regularly for club updates.
  • Attend all monthly club meetings or have a team representative attend on your behalf.
  • Ensure you have enough parents / helpers for when your team is rostered on for Canteen Duty.
  • Ensure all paperwork is completed correctly and delivered to the committee on time.
  • Ensure that the most improved, best & fairest and player’s player nominations are
    completed and put into the appropriate box for every game. (Competition soccer only)
  • Coaches must hold a blue card. All forms are available from the secretary or email

VOLUNTEERS

  • Merrimac Football Club is built on volunteers, of which we are proud of.
  • We believe everyone can offer something to the club and its children, however large or
    small – not to mention you get to meet fantastic like minded people.
  • All volunteers are welcome and any help appreciated. Feel free to email your name and
    contact details to merrimac@merrimacfootballclub.com.au for any services you can offer.

FIELD RULES

  • No Training on the main field.
  • No Climbing on the Fences.
  • No Climbing on the Goal Posts.
  • No Climbing on the Nets
  • Animals are not permitted on the grounds.
  • Before you leave – Look Around – Don’t forget your clothes, drink bottles or rubbish.

REFEREES

All referees including SSF are to wear the correct uniform (black shirt, shorts & socks) and
have their own whistle & cards. Merrimac Football Club holds referee clinics, please
contact the secretary or referee co-ordinator for your enquiry.

ACCIDENTS

  • In the case of injury during play Parents / Guardians are NOT permitted to man handle the injured player as it will nullify all insurance if a serious injury occurs.
  • Should there be an accident or injury on the field see the canteen or club official. Club
    Officials when on duty will be wearing fluro vests.

WORK PLACE HEALTH & SAFETY

  • We are all responsible to ensure the safety of ourselves and others. Follow the relevant
    machinery instructions when using machinery.
  • Do not use machinery without instruction.
  • Only use the equipment in the manner it is designed.
  • Should you notice something of concern around the field and the club please advise a Club Official as soon as possible or contact admin@merrimacfootballclub.com.au

UNSUPERVISED CHILDREN

  • Often enough, over the past years, players and their siblings have been dropped off and
    been left to look after themselves. Sadly, times have changed. We would like to
    reinforce that the club both Merrimac Football Club and the Gold Coast Italo Australian
    Club is not a babysitting service and all children are required to be supervised at all
    times, whether this be the parent or other.
  • Both clubs cannot accept responsibility for any child on the premises unsupervised.
  • Children will be children, and we want them to have fun. However, we wish to make you
    aware that should a child not be following conditions of entry and require a warning
    where the parents or guardian are not in the immediate vicinity the child will be
    reprimanded as required by committee, managers, coaches or other parents.

TOILETS

  • Toilets are situated near the change rooms. These will be opened during training times
    for players use. Soccer boots are not required to be removed to use these facilities.

CLUB HOUSE

  • Merrimac Football Club members and guests are welcome to the Gold Coast Italo
    Australian Club. All Visitors are expected to respect the regulations and dress code of
    the Gold Coast Italo Australian Club.
  • You will receive membership cards to the club with your registration. This membership
    card is required to be produced at the front desk, before entering the club. This is
    required by law, as we are licenced and have a gaming area. Bring it with you at ALL
    times. Those that do not hold a membership card with them will be required to sign at
    the front desk for entry. Please ensure this is adhered to at all times as fines may be
    enforced by the Qld Gaming Authority.

Membership Card or Sign-In is required at all times upon entry to the club house.
Dress Regulations are to be followed
No Glassware Outside of the Terrace
No Liquor Outside of the Terrace
Children Must be Supervised at ALL Times
No Running in the Club

FFA Terms & Conditions
By carrying out registration with Merrimac Football Club you agree to FFA
Terms and Conditions. The Player (or if the Player is under 18 years of age the
Player’s parent or legal guardian) agree:

  1. the information provided is current and correct;
  2. to comply with FFA Statutes, including the National Registration Regulations,
    Code of Conduct, Disciplinary Regulations and Grievance Resolution
    Regulations, copies of which are available on www.footballaustralia.com.au or
    on request;
  3. to comply with the Laws of the Game and the Competition Administrator’s
    Competition Rules;
  4. the Player is an amateur as defined by FFA Statutes and does not receive
    any money or consideration for participating in football (other than reasonable
    participation expenses);
  5. the Player must pay the Fees to the Club;
  6. FFA, the Member Federation, the Competition Administrator and the Club
    (Football Administrators) may use the Player’s name or image in any form or
    medium for general marketing and promotional activities;
  7. there may be inherent risks associated with participating in football that
    may result in personal injury and the Player agrees to fully bear that risk;
  8. not to bring any claim or proceeding against any Football Administrator for
    any damage, loss, injury or liability the Player may suffer in participating in
    football. Except for liability that by law cannot be excluded, the Football
    Administrators exclude all liability to the Player in tort (including negligence),
    contract or bailment for acts or omissions of the Football Administrators and
    their employees, agents and contractors;
  9. the Member Federation of the Club will provide the Player with insurance to
    cover any injury sustained while participating in football activities for that Club
    in the scope and coverage as prescribed by that Member Federation. A copy of
    the insurance policy must be provided by the Member Federation on request,
    including applicable benefits (such as death and capital benefits, loss of income
    and non-medicare medical expenses), exclusions, maximum benefits and
    deductibles;
  10. FFA respects the privacy of individuals on whom FFA collects, uses and
    discloses personal information. The personal information that FFA collects on
    this site is used and disclosed for the purposes as specified in the Privacy
    Policy, including processing registrations, staging the Competition,
    organisation, conduct and promotion of Competitions and Matches and
    providing football related information and offers from Football Administrators.
    If the Player does not want to receive special offers from Football
    Administrators partners, there will be an opportunity provided later in the
    registration process to opt out of receiving such special offers. A copy of the
    full Privacy Policy is available on www.footballaustralia.com.au. The Player may
    request access to personal information FFA holds by sending an email to
    privacy@footballaustralia.com.au.
  11. in addition to the uses given in clause 10, FFA is also seeking to gather
    more detailed information about football participants in Australia. By
    responding to these questions, FFA will be able to adopt a more needs based
    approach to the development of the game, in particular ensuring football is a
    more inclusive sport, expanding the scope and effectiveness of our indigenous
    programs and formulating a comprehensive schools strategy.
  12. to submit exclusively to the jurisdiction of the Grievance Resolution
    Regulations and to not attempt to resolve any dispute or grievance the subject
    matter of the FFA Statutes in a court of law;
  13. the Player’s registration is with the Club until the later of the end of the
    Season or the time as specified in the Competition Rules; and
  14. FFA may de-register the Player at any time by notice in person or sent to
    the address or email address entered on the system, including if these Terms
    or its incorporated documents are not complied with.

Merrimac Football Club Terms & Conditions
By registering with Merrimac Football Club, the Player (or if the Player is under
years of age the Player’s parent or legal guardian) agree:

  1. To abide by all club rules and regulations.
  2. You will take the field only after you are a current financial player and are
    wearing the full club strip.
  3. To adhere to the players, coaches and supporters code of conduct,
    displaying sportsmanship and goodwill at all times.
  4. That you understand and appreciate coaches and managers are volunteers
    and deserve that respect. Undue criticism or abuse towards coaches or
    managers will not be tolerated.
  5. To support your team in the best possible ways, including attending training
    and games on time and with the appropriate gear.
  6. To support the club in any capacity you are able.
  7. To bring any concerns to the attention of club officials in a prompt and civil
    manner.
  8. Any fines or damage incurred by players are to be paid by the player, or the
    parent/guardian in the case of junior players.
  9. I understand and agree that the Club’s officials and servants shall not be
    held responsible in the event of any accident, injury or illness during the
    course of the player’s participation in sport or other activities provided by
    the club.
  10. I agree to authorise the club’s officials to seek medical assistance should
    they feel, in their opinion, it be necessary and any associated expenses
    shall be mine.

    Code of Behaviour
