WHAT IS DEVELOPMENT FOOTBALL AT MERRIMAC FOOTBALL CLUB?

The Development Team at Merrimac Football Club is tailored for players who demonstrate both the potential and eagerness to excel in an advanced playing environment.

Our Development Program is meticulously crafted to support these players in their journey to progress within the sport, offering structured training and developmental sessions aimed at honing their skills and elevating their game. Players who opt to join our Development Team do so with the understanding that they will be part of a program specifically designed to integrate both football and educational elements, essential for their overall development.

Our primary focus is on nurturing players' comprehension of the fundamental components of the game, providing ample opportunities for learning and growth on the field. The development program features weekly specialised coaching sessions led by our experienced coaching team, ensuring engaging and effective training experiences. We are committed to fostering an environment that fosters healthy competition and provides the necessary guidance for young players to unlock their full potential. Through a dynamic and interactive training model, we aim to instill confidence and promote intelligent play among our players.

All selected players will be required to commit to the following, failure to commit can result in the player getting released from the Development Team:

Consistently show above average football abilities on a consistent basis in games and training
Are able to commit to all training sessions and match days
Are willing to listen and learn in the training environment
Have an interest in developing and being placed in a challenging environment
