The aim of this policy is to establish transparent guidelines for the process of refund requests, ensuring a fair and satisfactory outcome for both the Club and the Individual involved. In the event that a player decides to withdraw from participation after registering with Merrimac Football Club, it's important to note that full refunds of fees will not be issued. We acknowledge that circumstances may shift for families, and any requests for refunds must be formally submitted via email to the Club at info@merrimacfc.com.

Those who register with Merrimac FC for the upcoming season but do not actively participate, whether partially or entirely, may be eligible for a partial refund of their registration fees. This eligibility is contingent upon the reason for their discontinuation and is subject to the absolute discretion of the Committee.  Upon registration with our Club, it's important to acknowledge the mandatory non-refundable deposit. This deposit is essential for covering initial fees and streamlining the process of ordering players' kits. Such a policy is integral to the seamless functioning of our club, ensuring efficient resource management.

A player’s total registration fee is made up of a number of components. These being:

  1. Football Federation Australia (FFA)

  2. National Registration Fee (NRF)

  3. Football Queensland (FQ)

  4. Club Fee

The Club, has no control over the amount set as the FFA or FQ Capitation. The FFA, NRF and FQ Capitation once paid is non-refundable to the player upon a de-registration. (Refer to the Terms & Conditions in Play Football when registering to play).

The only instance where a  refund is to be applied is when the player HAS NOT engaged in any football activity within the Club, i.e. has not trained, participated in a trial game, or played in a season fixture. The player must deregister at PlayFootball.

REFUNDS

Refunds may be given for the following circumstances:

  • The Club cannot place the player into a suitable team i.e. team does not proceed due to not enough or too many players for their age group and no merchandise has been issued

  • The player’s personal circumstances change e.g. moving away from area

  • The player becomes injured or ill and it’s predicted he/she will not play

The refund amount is to be equal to the total registration fee paid minus the value of any merchandise provided and the FFA, NRF and FQ Fees and Levy's.

It is not the Club’s intention to make a profit out of players not playing.  The Club won’t stand in the way of players who do not wish to be part of Merrimac Football Club.
