The Merrimac Football Club Junior Program offers competitive community football for boys and girls aged U12 to U14. Our junior teams provide a platform for children to participate in football within a competitive yet social setting.

We are dedicated to fostering a culture within the club that prioritises the enjoyment of the game for all participants.

Our objective is to create an environment where junior players can thrive and progress in their football development, laying the foundation for their transition to youth and senior football.

At Merrimac Football Club, we are committed to supporting the growth and development of young players, both on and off the field.

WHAT WE FOCUS ON

At this age group, our focus is on ensuring that players exhibit high levels of technical and tactical proficiency, along with a comprehensive understanding of the various roles and responsibilities associated with different positions on the pitch. We emphasise the development of a deep tactical understanding, empowering players to employ different tactical systems effectively to counter challenges posed by opponents during matches.

As players progress, they are encouraged to cultivate a heightened sense of competitiveness and embrace a winning mentality in competitive fixtures. This entails shifting the focus towards creating a performance geared towards securing victory. Players are tasked with working both individually and collectively to address challenges encountered on the pitch, all while adhering to the principles and strategies they have been taught. Through this approach, we aim to instil in our players the ability to adapt and perform at their best in pursuit of success on the field.

MERRIMAC FOOTBALL JUNIORS PROGRAM INCLUDES:

2 x Full Kits (jersey, shorts and socks)
35 week program
2 x one hour weekly training sessions
Striking the ball / First touch / 1 v 1 / Running with the ball
Skill driven training game to increase players game knowledge
